Goldbach conjecture

Category: Mathematics

Status: Queued

Every even integer greater than 2 can be written as the sum of two primes. Stated by Goldbach in 1742, it has been verified by computer up to extremely large bounds but never proven in general.

The weak Goldbach conjecture (every odd integer greater than 5 is a sum of three primes) was proven by Harald Helfgott in 2013, but the strong (binary) version remains open.
