Are we alone in the universe?

Category: Astronomy

Status: Queued

The Fermi paradox asks why, given the size and age of the universe, we see no convincing evidence of extraterrestrial civilisations. Hypotheses range from the rarity of abiogenesis through 'great filters' yet to come, to deliberate concealment.

Searches by SETI and biosignature studies of exoplanet atmospheres (JWST) remain active. No confirmed detection has been made.
