Is recursion the unique feature of human language?

Hauser, Chomsky and Fitch (2002) proposed that recursion is the single computational property distinguishing human language from animal communication. Everett's work on Pirahã questioned whether recursion is universal; Nevins, Pesetsky and Rodrigues (2009) contested those claims.
