How do humans learn so efficiently from few examples?
Category: Psychology
Status: Queued
Children master concepts from a handful of examples, often across modalities. Modern AI systems require millions of examples to achieve comparable mastery on much narrower tasks.
Whether 'few-shot' learning requires built-in inductive biases, rich generative world models, or some other mechanism is a central open question for both psychology and AI.
